NO MORE CONDEMNATION
What a wonderful verse; so wonderful that every believer should memorize it and that God for it every day of their lives. Let’s consider a few points—
1. The Happy Condition, In Christ. This implies—
Being in His favor, or enjoying His grace.
Being in His name, or sharing His honor.
Being in His heart is to be filled with His love
We are in Him by faith, as Noah entered the ark (John 6:37).
We are in Him for fruitfulness, as the branch is in the vine (John 15).
We are in Him for fellowship, as members of the Body of Christ (Eph. 4:16).
2. A Blessed Privilege, No condemnation. This does not mean no affliction or temptation. In fact, those things may work together for good.
No condemnation under the law. Colossians 3:3 says we are considered dead to the law. Romans 10:4 tells us that Christ is the fulfillment of the law for those who believe.
No condemnation by God. God is the One who justifies us, therefore He does not condemn us, Romans 8:33.
No condemnation by conscience. Since the conscience has been purged of sin, it is void of offence.
3. A Solemn Reflection. If there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ, what is the condition of those who are not in Christ? One may be a good person, yet without hope before God. He that is without Christ is without hope, Ephesians 2:12. John 3:18 makes it clear: The one who believes in Christ is not condemned.
