In case you haven’t noticed, thanks to Global Warming, the whole east coast of the United States is in the deep freeze! I’ve been getting up at my usual hour of 5:30 AM and facing outside temperatures in the single digits! As the day wears on it doesn’t get much better, either; yesterday our high struggled to hit 19 degrees. Now, if you are a Canadian, I suppose that’s no big deal, however, if you left Canada in hopes of finding a more civilized climate, as I did, then single digit lows and highs in the teens are downright shocking! Let’s face it, the houses down here just are not built for these cold temperatures. Neither am I, come to think of it. So…until things warm up, I will not be in the church office, except to print stuff, check the answering machine (assuming I turned it on), feed the tropical fish (who must be in a state of shock), and make sure the pipes haven’t burst. For those who don’t know, Norton Presbyterian Church is one of the most beautiful churches in southwest Virginia, but it is also the coldest building in southwest Virginia.
Feel free to call me at home any time; I promise I will be working with my cold nose to the frozen grindstone.
